We decided to take the 180+ mile round trip to try out the new and can you believe it, 2nd only Hooters in the UK. The Liverpool restaurant opened its doors back in November and with America-UK working closely with our local Nottingham restaurant we just had to try out the new one.
Known as the 'World's Biggest Hooters' it's easy to see how it's taken the crown from the Dallas Texas restaurant in the States. The place is huge, with 2 extra large bars, a long line of tempting beer pumps and a choice of 3 separate dining areas. On top of this there is a merchandise store selling Hooters Liverpool t-shirts, the 2023 calendar (featuring the world famous Hooters Girls) and many other items normally only available in the States. There are also at least 60 TV screens showing various sports so you won't miss anything from wherever you are seated.
Rachael Moss, the mastermind and franchisee behind Hooters Liverpool explained to us that she had some items that had previously been removed from the Hooters menu re-added. These included the ever popular Quesadillas that are available in Cheese, Buffalo Chicken and Philly Cheese. She's even added some local options including a favourite amongst Scousers- Salt and Pepper Chicken.
Our waitress Grace was fantastic from start to finish. You would think she had been a Hooters girl for many years. She wrote her name on a napkin for us and said if we need anything to give her a shout. We ordered drinks first whilst we studied the well stocked menu. There were so many choices available it was so difficult to narrow it down. I personally could've ordered so many items but I finally settled on trying a Chicken Tenders and Boneless Wings Combo with a side of Curly Fries. Also on the table we ordered a Full Rack of Ribs, Burger Sliders, Fried Pickles, Waffle Fries and the Hooters Original Buffalo Platter which includes Shrimp, Boneless and standard Chicken Wings all smothered in a Spicy BBQ Sauce called Daytona. Everything arrived in no more than 10 minutes and to be honest it seemed much quicker than that which was very surprising considering how busy the restaurant was. It all tasted great, everything was cooked to perfection and you could tell it was quality food too. The kitchen staff deserve a massive pat on the back.
We were never left with an empty glass as Grace constantly checked on us to make sure we had everything we needed. It really felt like that true American hospitality only it is in the heart of Merseyside.
Last of all, it would be rude not to try a dessert before we left. I tried the Key Lime Pie- a favourite of mine following many visits to Florida over the years and I can confirm it's a good Key Lime Pie! All in all they are doing everything right at Hooters Liverpool. We would love to visit again and would recommend anyone looking for that unique American experience gets themselves over there as soon as possible.
To all the managers, kitchen staff, Hooters girls and everyone else working hard at Hooters Liverpool keep up the great work! It's a definite 5/5 from us!
