America Uk story about The Long Road Festival 2024 Preview

The UK’s home for country, Americana and roots music and culture, The Long Road is now just a matter of weeks away and we're focusing of what we are looking forward to at the 3 day festival.

The beloved show returns again to the heart of the English countryside at Stanford Hall, Leicestershire, between 23rd to 25th August 2024.

The festival kicks off on Friday with the American country vocal group Chapel Hart, answering the call of popular demand with a triumphant return to the festival having previously played as part of Rissi Palmer’s Color Me Country takeover. They will headline the Interstate stage on the opening night, following sets from alt-country band American Aquarium, and hip-hop country group Gangstagrass and more. Elsewhere audiences are sure to be captivated by folk duo Campbell Jensen and pop-rocker Gina Larner. These artists kickstart the weekend on Friday, ensuring a triumphant beginning to the festival.

Saturday promises to be a success with the Rhinestone Stage hosting a special UK exclusive headline show from the one and only Don McLean. Renowned for his enduring classics like "American Pie" and "Vincent (Starry, Starry Night)," as well as his cover of Roy Orbison’s “Crying” which reached number 1 in the UK, Don’s music tells an evocative story of the American experience and resonates with people around the world. McLean is not the only music sensation to grace The Long Road Festival on Saturday, with Paula Cole and Beyoncé collaborator Brittney Spencer joining him on the Rhinestone Stage, plus The Red Clay Strays and Colbie Caillat leading the charge on the Interstate stage.

Crowning the final evening of the festival with an energetic show on Sunday, is country-pop sensation Russell Dickerson, whose electrifying live performances and chart-topping hits have earned him a dedicated global following. Since bursting onto the scene, Dickerson’s first four singles all rose to number 1 consecutively, with all four tracks earning platinum certification or higher. Dickerson is joined on Rhinestone Stage by West Texas native Randall King. Alongside these artists are the folk-country group, Flatland Cavalry, and country artist, Pokey LaFarge, taking command of the Interstate Stage on Sunday. Ron Pope, best known for his viral song, “A Drop in the Ocean,” leads the pack from The Front Porch Stage.
