The Long Road Festival returned to Stanford Hall in Leicestershire for a weekend overflowing with country, Americana, and roots music, complemented by delicious food, engaging activities, and authentic experiences. At the heart of the festival was Larry Fleet, whose standout Saturday set on the Rhinestone Stage earned him the prestigious title of America-UK.com’s Artist of the Weekend.
Fleet’s performance was a highlight of the weekend, blending soulful storytelling with powerful vocals. His moving renditions of “Where I Find God” and “Lifetime Guarantee” showcased his genuine connection with the audience and cemented his reputation as a festival favourite.
Food offerings were a major draw, with the popular Texas Smoker serving up mouth-watering slow-cooked barbecue and Game And Flames delivering bold, flame-grilled dishes. Adding extra excitement, festival-goers competed in a hot dog eating contest on Saturday and a fiery chicken wing challenge on Sunday, featuring a hot sauce described as “hotter than the sun itself.” These contests brought plenty of fun and friendly competition to the festival grounds.

New to this year’s festival was the Hitching Post, a rustic barn space filled with hay bales and a dance floor dedicated to line dancing. It quickly became one of our favourite spots—a perfect place to kick back, relax, and soak up some classic country tunes, whether dancing or simply enjoying the laid-back atmosphere.

Families were well catered for thanks to the Lil Possum County games, a fun and engaging area designed especially for kids. Packed with games and activities, it added a family-friendly vibe that made the festival accessible and enjoyable for all ages.

Beyond music and food, the festival offered a variety of engaging activities. The Country Crafting sessions on Saturday and Sunday mornings provided creative outlets, while the Lil Nashville line dance celebration of Lainey Wilson’s hit “Whirlwind” got everyone moving. The Homegrown Talent Contest on Sunday afternoon highlighted emerging artists, with congratulations to winner Liam Price for his impressive performance.
While other memorable performances came from artists like Kezia Gill and Simeon Hammond Dallas, it was Larry Fleet whose heartfelt and soulful set perfectly embodied the spirit of The Long Road Festival—earning him the well-deserved honour of America-UK.com’s Artist of the Weekend.
